How hard are these boxes to open?
Easy. The Hurricane boxes, the Snowflake Box, the Firebird and the IQ Puzzle Box are all rated Easy on our five-level difficulty scale. Each one opens with a hidden move instead of a key, dial or combination, so the only challenge is finding it, and each is easy once you spot the cue. The City Circuit Board box can look impossible at first but opens in seconds once you understand the secret.

Can I personalize these puzzle boxes?
Yes. Every box on this page can be personalized with a custom laser engraving. Add a name, date, or short message, up to 45 characters, when you order. Placement varies by box, and each product page shows where the engraving goes next to the engraving option. See our laser engraving page for details and examples. For a custom logo, image or artwork, request a quote for custom work.

Will a gift card fit inside?
Yes. Every box in this collection holds a standard gift card, and folded cash fits too, so a personalized box turns a gift card or cash into a gift they have to open. Engrave their name or a date, and the box is still theirs after the card is spent.

Which box fits which occasion?
The Snowflake Box is the Christmas one, in blue-stained maple with five different snowflakes on the lid and sides. Wood is the traditional fifth anniversary gift, so a Hurricane box engraved with the wedding date works for a fifth anniversary. For everyone else, pick the artwork they would pick: a Chinese dragon, a pirate ship, ancient Egypt, or a city drawn like a circuit board.

Where are these boxes made, and how fast do they ship?
The Hurricane boxes, the Snowflake Box, the Firebird and the IQ Puzzle Box are all made in our Hudson, Florida workshop, and we do the engraving here too. Personalized orders ship from our Florida workshop within 2 business days, and standard orders within 1.

Can I return a personalized puzzle box?
Personalized and custom items cannot be returned. If we make a mistake on your order, we'll replace or refund it at no cost. A box ordered without engraving comes with free 30-day returns, and we pay the return shipping.
