The box is premium maple wood, solidly built at approximately 1.5 pounds. The dragon artwork is deeply laser-engraved into the wood, not painted or inlaid.

item was not as pictured. shown as white lacquer finish with inlaid dragon pattern, actual box is laser engraved nice wooden box. i admit box was very nice,just not as pictured. seller refunded full purchase price without delay after item was returned.
