Description
Write a secret message, turn it into code, then use the same settings to read it back. The Enigma II Large is a working wooden cipher machine with three interchangeable gears, handmade in Hudson, Florida by Creative Crafthouse. The Enigma series was designed and built by Dave Janelle and Bob Nolet.
Arrange the gears and set a three-letter keyword at the arrows. Turn the right-hand Output Wheel to each letter of your message and read the code letters alternately from the left and middle gears. To decode, reset the same gear order and keyword and reverse the process. That makes the Large a hands-on cryptography tool for educators and teens, an escape room prop, or a gift for puzzle and codebreaking fans. The larger format tends to appeal to escape-room owners.
The hardwood machine measures 12.75 inches long, 4.5 inches wide and 1 inch high, with 3.7 inch diameter gears. Deeply laser-engraved lettering and steel gear pins are part of the build. Each Enigma II is handmade in Hudson, Florida using premium woods and precision engraving for heirloom quality. You receive the base, three gears, an instruction sheet, two worksheets and 3 secret messages to decode. Full instructions are included.
