Description

Dominoes Set Double 6 is the classic 28-tile domino game cut in solid hardwood: every tile from double blank to double six, stored in a fitted wood box with a lift-off lid. It is the standard set families start with, made by Creative Crafthouse.

There are no veneers, no pressed wood, and no printed-on paper faces here, the usual shortcuts on inexpensive sets. Solid wood tiles have real weight and a clean click when you play them, and the fitted box is built to outlast decades of game nights. These are the same 28 pieces families have shuffled face-down and drawn from the boneyard for well over two hundred years.

A double-six set is the standard starting point for the whole domino family. Play a straightforward Block or Draw game, or step up to All Fives (also called Muggins), the classic scoring version where you play to make the open ends add to a multiple of five. Two to four players, a few minutes to learn, and a printed rules sheet is included so a first-timer can start the same night. Each tile measures 1 by 2 inches, and the box footprint is 8 by 4.75 inches, so the set stacks neatly on a game shelf or travels in a bag.

The game is older than most people guess. The 28-tile set you know took shape in Europe in the mid-1700s, first in Italy and then as a craze in France, and its ancestor is older still: dominoes trace back to China, where the tiles were referenced as far back as the 10th century.
