Bring the baby shower gift that everyone will want a turn with. The Pregnancy Decider is a joke pregnancy test made of wood for grown-ups: "The Pregnancy Tester" is engraved across the top, with five results around it: It's a Boy, It's a Girl, Not Pregnant, No Chance This Month, and Try Again Tonight to Activate Positive Result. Swing the pendulum and see the answer! It is made for a laugh at a baby shower, a gender reveal party or a Christmas exchange with a couple who are expecting or trying, and Creative Crafthouse, the family business founded in 2003, makes it in Hudson, Florida.

Any of the answers could result from the swing; only the universe knows. It is pure fun: the Pregnancy Decider is not a pregnancy test and not a medical device, it cannot tell anyone whether they are pregnant or whether the baby is a boy or a girl, and it should never guide a health decision. As a fun item for the couple trying to get pregnant, or a keepsake for an expecting mom who has fielded every baby question twice, it is exactly the right amount of silly.

Our laser etches the title and all five results into a rubberwood base, so the joke lasts well past the shower. Under every result sits a small hidden magnet, paired with one inside the pendulum, so as the swing dies down the pendulum settles over one result, no batteries or switches involved. The bottom is backed in red felt, which keeps it from scratching a gift table or dresser.

A reviewer once admitted they had no idea how to put it together; it turns out to be one screw. In the kit, nicely packaged, are the engraved board, its arm, the pendulum, one screw and an instruction sheet. With the red felt side facing you, push the screw through the small hole and turn it up into the bottom of the arm; you supply the large Phillips screwdriver. The pendulum's height is adjustable by turning the small metal eye it hangs from, if you ever want it closer to the board. With the arm on, it reaches 5.5 inches high, and the base is 7.7 by 3.75 inches.

We can laser the couple's names or the due date on the front of the base; anything up to 45 characters fits, and the gag gift becomes a keepsake from the pregnancy.
