Dinner Decider - Wooden What's for Dinner Decision Maker

Not sure where to dine tonight? Here's the solution. The Dinner Decider is a wooden pendulum decision maker for the kitchen, with five tasty options on its face: Mexican, Pizza, Chinese, Subs and Cook at Home. Flick the pendulum before anyone reaches for a delivery app; as it slows, the magnet hidden under one option pulls it in, and that ends the "I don't care, what do you want?" round before it starts. It is made for the nightly where-to-eat standoff, so it makes an easy Christmas, housewarming or white elephant gift for couples, newlyweds and anyone who just moved in. The menu covers the usual standoff: Mexican, Pizza, Chinese and Subs for the takeout crowd, and Cook at Home for the nights the grocery budget wins. The five options are engraved by laser right into the rubberwood base: no stickers to peel and nothing to rub off with everyday kitchen handling. Beneath each option there is a magnet, and another rides in the pendulum to settle the swing over one dinner plan; it runs on no batteries at all. The underside is red felt, gentle on a counter or dining table.

It goes together right on the kitchen table. What arrives, nicely packaged, is the board with its five options, a curved arm, the pendulum, the one screw it needs and the instructions; the large Phillips screwdriver comes from you. Upside down on the table, the board shows a small hole in its felt; that is where the screw starts, and it runs up into the arm. The pendulum's height over the menu is set by the screw eye, a small metal loop at the end of the arm, so a turn of that eye raises or lowers it. It is small enough to tuck beside the coffee maker: its base is 7.7 inches long and 3.75 inches deep, and the arm tops out at 5.5 inches.
