The Decision Maker is a wooden pendulum desk toy for the person who is impossible to shop for: the boss who already has everything, the coworker who tells you to surprise them, the friend who can never pick a place to eat. Set it on a desk, ask it a question, and the pendulum swings until it settles on Yes, No, Always, No Way, or Maybe. We make it at Creative Crafthouse, our family-run wooden puzzle and game shop, and handcraft this one in Hudson, Florida.
It is meant to sit on a desk and get used, not end up in a drawer, which also makes it a good white elephant or Secret Santa gift. It is solid rubberwood with the answers lasered deep into the face, not a plastic gag that gets tossed out in January. At about 7.7 inches across and 5.5 inches tall, it holds its own on a desk or shelf.
Inside the base are five hidden magnets, with one more in the pendulum, so the arm swings and settles cleanly on an answer. The bottom is lined with felt so it will not scratch a desk or table. It arrives nicely packaged; you just attach the pendulum arm with the one included screw.
We can also engrave it however you want. Put a name on it, or change the answers to the things that person can never decide, and it stops being a generic desk toy.
