Description

The Mandala Secret Lock Box is a wooden gift card and money puzzle box with a hidden compartment, finished with detailed mandala scrollwork that is laser-engraved in our Hudson, Florida workshop. Tuck a gift card, folded cash, a check, or a small keepsake inside, and the recipient has to solve the box before they can reach it. It is designed by Erhan Cubukcuoglu of Turkey and made by Creative Crafthouse with his permission.

It opens the same way as our Secret Lock Box, and it is a genuine solve. There are five sliding rods on each end, and all of them have to be worked into exactly the right position before the lid will release. The mandala engraving is what sets this one apart: three faces of the box carry the scrollwork, and the lid can still be personalized with a name or message.

Dimensions: 5.2 x 3 x 3 inches outside. The inside cavity is 3 3/8 x 2 1/8 x 2 1/8 inches, just enough for a standard gift card, folded bills, a folded check, or a small keepsake.
Material: raintree, a warm-toned wood, with the mandala scrollwork laser-engraved in our Hudson, Florida workshop.
Difficulty: a real hands-on puzzle, not an instant reveal. A printed instruction and solution sheet is included so the gift giver always has the answer.
Personalization: add a laser-engraved name, date, monogram, or short message on the lid, up to 45 characters, for $4. Company logos and custom artwork available for corporate gifts.
Reusable. The box outlasts the gift inside and makes a keepsake worth keeping out on a shelf.

How does it open?

How hard is it to open?

It is a genuine puzzle, rated Level 3. You can see there is a mechanism, but aligning the rods to free the lid takes patience and trial. Most people get there, and a solution sheet is included so the gift giver always has the answer.
