A puzzle design by William Stijbos of the Netherlands. It was the winner of the prestigious Himiki Puzzle competition in Japan in 1990

16 wooden puzzle pieces, consisting of a white and a dark wood block, cut at various angles. Each piece represents one of the possible ways that two pieces of 2 colors cut at different angels can be joined. The objective is to assemble the pieces into a two-layer, 5x5 checkerboard pattern with the colors matching on both layers and with all of the pieces fitting flush to the top of the puzzles wooden container.  It is a difficult level 5 puzzle. This is a high quality version of the puzzle measuring 4 3/4" square by 1.5" deep. Fit and finish is one of the best we have to offer and its a great value.
