The Soma Cube JUMBO is huge! It was initially made for a museum that wanted something for a hands-on display that would be nearly indestructible and difficult to lose the pieces. It is a 5.25” cube when assembled and comes with base and cover that bring the total packaged size to about 6.5” cube. The cross section of each piece is 1.75” square! Volume and weight wise it is about 10 times larger than the standard size medium soma cube.
We now offer 6 sizes of soma from the baby up to this jumbo. Note, this jumbo size is available in limited quantity only (35 available at time of posting).
About Soma Cubes:
Invented by Danish mathematician Piet Hein in 1936. There are 7 pieces, all different, that will form a cube 240 unique ways. In addition, there are many other shapes that can be made that are generally more difficult to solve than the cubes.
Our instruction sheets include 60 3-D shapes that can be made (with solutions), along with recommended websites that are dedicated to this puzzle that will give you many more shapes, plus math theory, history and more.
